Meaning "Flat Earth", Plana Terra is a photography project based in the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire Fens. The series documents the journey of the water through the man-made structures such as rivers, dykes, flood plains and more. The images are non-figurative and landscape focused which has allowed me to capture the vast emptiness of the land around the South East of England. There are four main rivers flowing through the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire fens. These rivers are the River Welland, Glen, Nene and Great Ouse. Below are a range of photographs from this series which highlight the differing water management strategies, from rivers and pumping stations to flood plains and marshlands. Each of these man-made structures helps to ensure the land can remain habitable for residential, commercial and agricultural use.
